Double Grid Strain Gauges for Elevatoring Industry
Double Grid Strain Gauges for Elevatoring Industry are designed to measure the tension resulting from loading up. They can feature either one or two measuring grids attached to a single carrier. In a single-grid configuration, the strain gauge element is oriented at a 45° angle relative to the shaft axis. A two-grid shear strain gauge, also known as a V Rosette, has measuring elements set at 45° and 135°. These gauges are commonly used in applications such as engine shafts and drivetrains, where they can be used to calculate shaft power based on strain measurements.]
Model: HA series
Carrier Material: Phenolic Aldehyde /Polyimide/Epoxy
Measuring Material: Foil(nickel copper alloy, Constantan or Karma)
Resistance: 350, 650,1000 Ohm
Operational temperature -30~+80℃, Temperature compensation range +10~+80℃
Four (4) solder points, long terms stable.
With 4 tin points which facilitates the soldering of wires
Glueing surface: Steel or Alluminum.
Applications:
Torsional Load Measurement / Torque sensing: Driveshafts, turbines, or rotating machinery.
Structural Health Monitoring: Bridges, beams, or joints under shear stress.
Aerospace/Automotive Testing: Wing spars, chassis components, or suspension systems.
Material Science: Studying shear properties in composites or alloys.
Example Use Case:
Monitoring shear stress in a helicopter rotor shaft:
- Install HA Series gauges at 45° on the shaft surface.
- Connect to a telemetry system via slip rings.
- Measure real-time torsional loads during operation to prevent fatigue failure.
- Optimized for shear/torsional strain measurement
